Due to the modified concept, the second edition of the user conference around the Spaix software solutions provided participants not only user-related presentations but also practical workshops. The latter gave attention to special application cases in the program and offered the possibility to clarify upcoming questions directly with the VSX support staff. The event focused on the recently launched pump selection program Spaix 4 Pumps and gave participants and prospective customers a detailed overview about functionality and usability.

Again, experienced Spaix users as well as prospective customers had accepted the invitation. Thus, the platform could be intensively used for the exchange of experiences regarding the handling of the Spaix 4 program. The time after the single sessions and breaks was used for detailed discussions, in which the VSX software engineers, employees of the support department and the management answered questions of the attendees. Registrations from six different countries could be recorded.

Moreover, two guest speakers from the pump industry could be won, who presented practical application scenarios of the Spaix 4 software. Mr. Peter Bonn from Sulzer Pump Solutions Germany GmbH spoke about the evaluation of variable frequency drives under different operating conditions with the help of specific energy in Spaix. He could give participants an insight to a very important topic which is currently confronted with changed business conditions due to the new EU regulations. Mr. Friedrich Pauli from Sterling SIHI GmbH gave an understanding of his experiences with the integration of Spaix 4 Pumps in a complex online solution. This might have given participants interesting impulses for an implementation or optimization of their own software solution. Both lectures got great feedback from the auditory.

With Spaix 4 VSX is expanding its multi-platform concept by native applications for mobile devices. Due to this concept users get the possibility to access a unique database via different devices corresponding to a certain situation and infrastructure. Reason enough to focus the interaction of the platforms Web and Mobile in a single lecture. The combination of both platforms enables customers to share projects easier and even faster which improves the interaction of external and internal workers in terms of quickness and quality. Another speech gave attention to the data management and – based on that – the reproduction of business processes in Spaix 4. Closely linked to this topic was the lecture about user registration and management which was significantly enlarged in the web version of Spaix 4. It now offers users a lot of new possibilities. Another lecture was focusing on practical aspects for the reflection of special pump selection topics in the new Spaix selection program.

New to the conference program were practical workshops in which participants got the opportunity to see application cases directly in the program, to reenact them and to discuss it with the VSX support employees. Especially the presentation of different options to import performance curves got positive feedback from the participants.

The supporting program was arranged the evening before and included a tasting of Saxon wines within one of the oldest wine-growing districts of the region followed by the conference dinner. Both participants and organizers spend the evening in a pleasant atmosphere and looked forward to the conference.

The sales of Spaix licenses in the distribution area Southeast Asia has started very well. The number of customers in the markets served by VSX distributor Euroflo could be significantly increased during the previous year. Moreover, this leads to a further enhancement of the recognition of Spaix pump selection software in general. The majority of clients initially decided for the compact software solution Spaix Quick&Easy in order to use the basic functionality at low investment costs. Often, these licenses are later upgraded to full-licensed pump sales software suites including features like configuration, spare parts and accessory selection.

Within the scope of the distributor agreement Euroflo is not only responsible for the sales of licenses but also for all services the customer requires for the implementation. Besides support activities accompanying the whole process also services like data input and performance curves digitalization are necessary in order to initially feed the program with all data and parameters important for the selection.

In the future, activities are more focusing on the support of consulting-intensive services which become more and more important especially for the operation of Spaix full versions. In order to meet the increased market requirements comprehensive consulting services are essential, for instance in terms of integration possibilities of Spaix with already implemented ERP systems or intensive trainings featuring the use of the data maintenance program.
